The auger conveyor tensioning gear is composed of bearings, screws, nuts, and guides. Rotating the spider rod allows the bearing to move along the rail with the nut still set in the housing. The screw can work in compression as well as in tension (it works better in tension). The latter is much longer than the former in terms of length. It uses a spiral tension to hold the dishes, and the tension of the rubber band varies during the working process. As the rubber band elongates, the tension gradually decreases, so it must be checked and adjusted periodically. Since it is difficult to adjust it manually, inevitably the tension will be too high or too low at the very beginning. So it can only be used in simple, relatively short belt conveyors like the wheels on unloaders and loaders.
The diameter of the drive rollers of the belt auger conveyor belt is generally larger than that of the tension rollers. The reason for this selection is that the tension varies considerably between the inbound and outbound branches of the rubber band on the driving roller. If the diameter of the rollers is larger, correspondingly, the circumference of the rollers is longer. In this way, in the process of transitioning the rubber belt around the inward side to the outward side, the deformation in the unit length is smaller, which is conducive to extending the service life of the rubber belt.
Usually, the belt conveyor on the unloader is not very powerful and the ambient humidity is low, so the shiny side rollers can be used for the job. In the case of a humid environment, high power and easy skidding, rubber rollers should be used. Among them, the potassium glue rollers have a better texture, with a thick glue layer that is resistant to friction. These rollers should be selected as far as production conditions permit. Although the rubber-coated rollers have a short service life, they are easy to maintain.
